Rooted, Missional and Compassionate

Our Mission:

Immersed in prayer and guided by the Holy Spirit, St. Aidan’s Anglican Church is committed to sharing the transforming love of Christ in our community, and beyond.

Our Vision:

As disciples of Christ, we witness to the Kingdom of God in service to our neighbors, and in making new disciples.

Rooted + Missional + Compassionate

We are ROOTED in Jesus Christ our Lord:

Anchored in the Holy Scriptures in continuity with the theological interpretation learned from the early Fathers, we maintain unity in “the tradition that has been believed everywhere, always and by all”. We base our mission and teaching on the bedrock of the Holy Scriptures, the Lord’s Prayer, the Ten Commandments, the Catholic Creeds (Apostles’, Nicene, Athanasian), the Ecumenical Councils, and such sound doctrine as is not repugnant to Holy Scripture and is in agreement with the Undivided Church.

We are MISSIONAL:
Christ left us with the Great Commission,

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”  (Matthew 28:19–20)

We gather together to worship and give thanks to God, to hear the Word of God proclaimed and preached, to receive the sacraments, and to fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ.
You might say we “come to church” to recharge our spiritual batteries.

We "go" from there, dispersing to love and serve the Lord. We “are the church” in the world, sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.  Madeleine L’Engle famously quipped, “We draw people to Christ not by loudly discrediting what they believe, by telling them how wrong they are and how right we are, but by showing them a light that is so lovely that they want with all their hearts to know the source of it.” Sometimes it is by action.  Sometimes it is with words.  Always it is by love.

We are COMPASSIONATE:
We are committed to reach out to the poor, the marginalized (least, lost, labeled, lonely), and the needy in our surrounding community.

Establishing, building, and nurturing relationships with God, with ourselves, with one another, with our neighbor, and with all creation, we are committed to love God with all our hearts, souls, minds, and strength; to love our neighbor (and each other) as ourselves, and not as a mere product or process. We endeavor to build bridges of relationship into our communities.
